Georgetown Spring Fair May 17 & 18

Want to know about the Field Course (May 10, 2008)

Mike will be holding a Field Course explaination tour at the club on
                   Saturday May 10, 2008
                   Starting time 11:00am

All new members are invited to attend as well as members who are interested in shooting the field course. You will be able to shoot parts of the course, so bring your equipment.

Mike will be explaining how to shoot the different style targets as well as the scoring.

The tour will be full of information. Hope to see you there.

Please take note that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be on Sunday, April 20th, 2008, at 1:00pm.

All members welcome and encouraged to attend.

There will be 3 board positions open for election. Duties are shared amongst all members of the Board. Elected members stand for a 3 year term, however, one of the positions to be a 2 year term, filling the position held by Barry Leibner and completing the end of his term.

Full Members in good standing are eligible to run for election.
Only Full Members are eligible to vote.

If you’re interested in running for the Board, we invite you to put your name forward to the Board prior to the AGM.

Also on the Agenda will be a discussion of the James Dick Quarry application and
its potential impact to our club.

Please plan to attend the AGM on Sunday April 20th. Come out to support your club, voice your interests, and socialize with fellow members.

Glass Turkey Shoot

Sunday, December 2 is the “Glass Turkey shoot” at the club. This is a novelty round shot on the 40cm coloured face, but is scored as a 9 for the yellow - 7 for the red - 5 for the blue - 3 for the black and 1 for the white. First prize per Adult category is a bottle of wine ( thus the “Glass Turkey” name). Scoring starts at 11:00 - practice at 10:00am. There is no pre-registration needed for the tournament.

A light lunch will be available.

Help is needed for serving lunch - this round typically runs a little faster than most , so if you can help with lunch, you will be needed from 11:30 to approx 1:00pm  Please contact Bruce if you can help with serving lunch

Indoor Range To Be Unavailable

The indoor range of the club will be closed Friday December 7, 2007.  It has been rented for a birthday party in the evening and they will be decorating during the day.

3D Range Ready For The 2007 Summer Season

Dave McQuaker has finished the work on the 3D range. New targets have been added to those we added last year.

He hopes that the members get a chance to come out and enjoy the course. Dave would be pleased to provide a tour. He can be emailed at dmcquaker@sympatico.ca. Everything is well marked, the trails are trimmed back and it is an easy walk. Please let the other members know as well.

Coach Certification Workshops Planned For the Fall

Two dates have been set for coach certification clinics in the fall.
October 6 - 7 for a Beginner Coach workshop - at Caledon - formerly known as level 1
Nov 3 - 4 for the Intermediate Coach workshop - at Caledon - formerly known as level 2

Bow Tuning Seminars & Field Course Introduction Schedule

We will be holding bow tuning seminars for recurve and compund bows. There will also be a guided tour of the field course for the new members who have not been out back yet. Everyone is welcome. The sessions will be held Saturday, May 5:

10:00 am Recurve Tunning with Rae Savage

12:00pm LUNCH - BYOF (bring your own food)

1:00pm Compound Tunning with King Moorhead

2:30pm Walk through the Field Course with Bruce Savage
